The Silver LifeHammer is an auto emergency escape tool for those who want the look of brushed silver. It is made by the same company who makes the Original Safety Orange Life Hammer and it is functionally the same. The Silver Life Hammer has a special coating applied to give it the "silver" appearance. The mounting bracket is also styled slightly different than the Safety Orange Life Hammer. The Original LifeHammer is a high-quality auto escape tool designed to
help prevent auto entrapment after an accident. In an emergency the
Life Hammer will easily break a side or rear tempered glass car window
and cut a jammed seat belt allowing you to escape with your life. The
Original Life Hammer is the same emergency escape hammer seen on ABC
News, Good Morning America and Myth Busters. The Life Hammer features dual conically shaped precision
steel heads that will break a car window with even a light blow. It
also includes a safely guarded razor that will easily cut through a
jammed seat belt. The Life Hammer comes with it's own mounting bracket
that has a florescent button on one end that "glows in the dark" so you
can locate it day or night. It was designed and engineered in Germany
and is manufactured to exacting specifications in The Netherlands.
Length with bracket: 7.5" Weight with bracket: 5.4oz.
Each year more than 10,000 people are involved in auto water
immersion accidents. Water immersion causes electric door locks and
windows to malfunction often trapping victims inside. Many motorists
also become trapped in "dry land" accidents when their doors and seat
belts jam while their cars are engulfed in flames. Many people don't know that most car windows
are made of tempered glass which is almost impossible to break without
a tool specially designed to do the job. The LifeHammer will give you
"peace of mind" knowing that in an emergency you and your loved ones
can escape a burning or sinking car.

The LifeHammer should be mounted in the vehicle
within easy reach of the driver. It can be located on the side of the
console, under the dashboard, or on the door panel. Another location
that works in some vehicles is just below the rear seat above the
center "hump". Here it is reachable by the passengers. If you choose
this location you should be certain that the driver can reach back and
access it.
Please note that you should never attempt to break
a front windshield. It is made of "laminated" glass which consists of
two pieces of plate glass sandwiched together with a strong plastic
laminate in between. True "laminated" glass is not to be confused with
"after-market film lamination" used mainly for "tinting". After-market
"tinting" lamination will hold the shattered glass in place but it can
be torn through with a few blows of a LifeHammer.
A few high-end cars are now available with true "laminated" glass side
and rear windows. There is no personal auto escape tool that will break
through "laminated" glass. Check with your car dealer if you suspect
that your side and rear windows are "laminated" (not after-market film
lamination).
