The BreathKey keychain breathalyzer is an affordable, accurate and easy-to-use breath alcohol tester. It is the smallest and lightest digital breathalyzer on the market, measuring only 2.25" by 1.25" and weighing just .7 of an ounce (about the size of most keyless car entry remotes).
The Breath Key attaches conveniently to your keychain so you'll always have it available when you need it. But don't be fooled by it's small size. This is not a cheap novelty breathalyzer like other keychain units on the market. BreathKey is the only digital keychain breathalyzer that is certified by the FDA. It is accurate to +/-.01% at .08%.
Breath Key was developed by the same engineer who designed the breath alcohol ignition interlock systems used by the courts in almost 40 states. It uses fuel cell alcohol sensor technology, just like the professional breathalyzers used by police departments.

Everyone knows that driving while intoxicated can lead to severe consequences. Each year there are an average of 17,168 deaths from alcohol-related car crashes and even more people are arrested for driving under the influence based on a breathalyzer test administered by the police.
Most people have no idea what their blood alcohol level is. What if you’ve only had a few drinks and you feel fine? How do you really know how much alcohol is in your system? If you were to get stopped by the police after having a few drinks would you test over the legal limit?
Developed by the same engineer who designed the breath alcohol ignition interlock systems used by the courts in almost 40 states, BreathKey is the only digital keychain breathalyzer certified by the FDA. It is accurate to .01% at .08%. The BreathKey will produce blood alcohol level (BAC) readings up to .20%. At this point you are two and a half times the .08% BAC legal limit in most states.
The BreathKey is very easy to use. First you should wait for 20 minutes after consuming alcohol, food or drink or after smoking prior to using any breath alcohol tester. Any alcohol still in your mouth will give an inaccurate reading. Then simply press the button on the front of the BreathKey and it will display "wait" on the digital readout. A few seconds later it will flash "blow".
At this display you place your mouth on the end of the devise over a blowing hole and blow for about four seconds until you hear a long steady beep. The BreathKey will then display "wait" for a few seconds and then it will display your blood alcohol level.
The generally accepted legal standard for alcohol intoxication in the U. S. is .080%. However, your driving skills can be impaired at a level of .040% or even lower.

The BreathKey is a "personal" breathalyzer and it is not designed to be shared between individuals. Like most other breathalyzers (except the AlcoMate Premium and the AlcoMate Prestige) it should be returned to the manufacturer for re-calibration every six to twelve months or when you suspect you are getting inaccurate readings. Instructions for how and when to return the BreathKey are included.
